Manning Selvage & Lee's New York Office Expands Consumer Marketing Leadership
Renée Wilson appointed to new role; two co-directors named for practice
Manning Selvage & Lee (MS&L) today announced it has expanded its consumer marketing leadership by promoting practice leader Renée Wilson to SVP, director of strategic services and innovation and appointing Kim Friedman and Caryn Carmer to co-directors of the practice. All appointments are effective January 1.
Wilson, who was named head of MS&L New York's consumer marketing practice in July 2005, has more than 16 years of experience in influencer marketing, marketing to women and launching new products. In her new role, she will be responsible for strategic planning, business development, innovation and launching new products and services. She will also continue to serve on the New York office's executive team and in her role as a senior counselor to Procter & Gamble.
"Under Renée's leadership, the consumer practice has grown 15 percent by adding top new clients and growing existing pieces of business," said Jim Tsokanos, executive vice president and managing director for MS&L New York. "Consumer-driven insights and breakthrough ideas are at the core of our business, and I'm thrilled Renée will have the opportunity to develop these for our clients and share her talent with our staff."
In their new roles, Friedman and Carmer will manage the office's consumer marketing team, lead new business and offer strategic counsel for the group's clients. They will also join the New York office's executive team.
Friedman was most recently a director in MS&L's London office, where she served on the consumer group management team and led national, global and EMEA-wide programs forclients such as Rolex, Philips and Western Union. She joined MS&L in 1999 as vice president and has worked for several of the agency's largest accounts in its New York and Paris offices. For the past three years, Friedman has been a member of the Philips Global Account management team. She has also held communications positions at Lalique North America, Loving & Weintraub and Guerlain, Inc.
Currently deputy consumer practice director, Carmer joined MS&L as senior vice president in 2005 and leads public relations programs for several Procter & Gamble brands including Swiffer, Bounce and Mr. Clean. As a member of the practice's management team, she helps manage staff and shapes the group's direction. Prior to joining MS&L, Carmer was director of New York operations for PainePR, where she worked on communications programs for a number of consumer and corporate accounts including Pampers, XM Satellite Radio and Blockbuster.
