MS&L Expands Insight Creation Team

Holly Jarrell named global director of insight and research; Jessica Broome joins team as VP, director of measurement

New York07/08/2008 —

Manning Selvage & Lee (MS&L) today announced it has promoted Holly Jarrell, most recently senior vice president, insight creation for North America, to global director of insight and research.  Additionally, Jessica Broome joined the team as vice president, director of measurement.  Both appointments are effective immediately.

In her new role, Jarrell will have overall responsibility for the creation and implementation of a vision and plan for building a best-in-class research and insights capability for MS&L’s global offices.  She will work closely with key staff to develop a strategy that ensures top insights practices are developed and cultivated in key regional offices, and that insight services are delivered effectively.  Jarrell will also develop clear processes to help offices worldwide access current resources and continue to serve the needs of both client and new business development teams.

Since joining MS&L in 2006, Jarrell has built an industry-leading insights and research team focused on providing resources and training, differentiating tools and intellectual capital to staff, clients, and new business initiatives.  Jarrell’s expertise has also been critical in developing proprietary research for MS&L, including the Conversation Catalysts study for IM MS&L, the agency’s influencer marketing specialty, Marketing to Women research, and many others.

“Holly and her team have been a tremendous resource for our North American network, and we’re very pleased to offer their expertise to our staff and clients globally,” said Mark Hass, MS&L’s worldwide CEO.

Prior to joining MS&L, Jarrell was a senior vice president at the Daniel Yankelovich Group, where she helped executives in leading U.S. companies apply current and emerging trends to their business objectives.  Prior to that, she was group senior vice president and director of Roper Public Affairs at RoperASW (now GFK), where she led all public policy, public affairs and publicly-released custom research efforts.  She also co-directed the firm’s corporate reputation management tool, the FORTUNE®/Roper Corporate Reputation Index.

MS&L’s insight creation team also added Jessica Broome to its staff, as vice president, director of measurement.  Broome will be responsible for developing and implementing a suite of public relations measurement techniques for MS&L.  She draws on experience creating and implementing measurement tools and studies for clients such as AstraZeneca, Ford, and the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute.

“Jessica’s expertise in developing and instituting measurement tools for leading companies will be a tremendous asset to our client programs,” said Jarrell.

Broome joins MS&L from Ogilvy PR Worldwide, where she recommended strategic research and measurement initiatives for clients including GlaxoSmithKline, Unilever and Mattel. She was previously with StrategyOne, the research arm of Edelman Public Relations, where she worked on research programs for clients across a range of sectors and managed the International Edelman Trust Barometer.
