Jim Tsokanos

President, North America and Managing Director, MS&L New York

Jim Tsokanos is President, North America and Managing Director of MS&L’s New York office, and a member of the agency’s Global Leadership Team. He is responsible for driving the firm’s growth strategy in North America, including business planning and management, and the day-to-day operations of the firm’s flagship office.

With more than 15 years of award-winning experience in consumer, healthcare, corporate and holistic marketing, Tsokanos has lead some of the firm’s largest clients including Procter & Gamble, Eli Lilly and HUSA (Heineken, Heineken Premium Light and Amstel Light). A deep believer in research, planning, creativity and breakthrough thinking, Tsokanos helps MS&L’s clients develop innovative communications solutions and measurable outcomes for complex business challenges.

Prior to joining the New York office in July 2005, Tsokanos managed MS&L Atlanta and the southeast region. In three years as managing director, he doubled the size of the office in terms of both revenue and employees, making MS&L Atlanta the region’s largest international public relations firm. There, he represented top brands such as The Home Depot, Cingular, Equifax, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and Philips Electronics.  Prior to joining MS&L, he was a vice president and group director at Ketchum in Atlanta, where he lead the firm’s global sports marketing practice and managed accounts including Nokia, STP NASCAR, Bombardier Sea-Doo, Lowe’s Home Improvement and Pfizer IOC Olympic Prize for Sport Science.

Tsokanos began his career at Cohn & Wolfe/NY, where he was a member of the firm’s consumer marketing practice. There, he was responsible for the global launch of the BMW Z3 Roadster in conjunction with the James Bond thriller Golden Eye, manager of national media relations for Marlboro Team Penske Racing and Virginia Slims Women’s Tennis.

A native of the New York metropolitan area, Tsokanos is a graduate of Iona College in New Rochelle, NY. He has also served on the board of advisors for the 2000 Atlanta Super Bowl Host Committee, is a founding member of North America’s premier cycling race, The Tour de Georgia, and a member of Brain Trust, an Organization of CEOs. He lives in New Jersey with his wife Brenda and daughter Sophia.
