It was in 1999 that Hanmer & Partners started operations from a single office in Mumbai with a couple of clients and handful of personnel. Today, we have emerged as the country’s largest independent multi-disciplinary communications agency.
In October 2007, Hanmer & Partners was acquired by the Publicis Groupe and aligned with MS&L. Today, our new name is Hanmer MS&L and we are a well-managed professional firm with total staff strength of over 325, spread over 41 major cities and servicing 150 top Indian and MNC clients in diverse industry verticals including:
- Consumer
- Lifestyle & Hospitality
- Financial Services
- IT & Telecom
- Media & Entertainment
- Auto, Aviation, Engineering & Infrastructure
- Healthcare
Our success over the years has been epitomized by a constant evolution of robust strategies, keen insights, creative techniques and timely executions that have become a hallmark of our service differentials.
The growth of the Indian economy since the early 1990s heralded the boom for PR agencies. From a handful of agencies in the mid 90s, there are around 500 firms that currently clutter the scene. The call of the hour was to foray into areas which would grow parallel to our core public relations competence and eventually put a major differentiator between Hanmer MS&L and “just another” PR agency. And we did just that.
Today, the real urban India is not represented by just the six metro cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore. It is the second tier cities with populations of 500,000 to one million with rising disposable incomes that are actually fuelling the rapid economic growth. So our idea was to take our clients’ messages directly to these burgeoning markets. This led to the birth of Hanmer Reach, one of our unique offerings which extends Hanmer’s PR expertise into smaller towns. Similarly, growth was made into the areas of creative services, events and interactive, aiming to position Hanmer MS&L as a 360 degree communications solutions company.
The move paid off. The value-added service divisions contributed to the horizontal growth of Hanmer MS&L and helped the consolidation of the company’s PR division, attracting the best talent and prestigious clientele. Because of these innovative decisions, Hanmer MS&L is today viewed as not only a PR agency with maximum pan-India reach, but an agency that could also give utmost value to clients in terms of comprehensive communications solutions, be it the conventional routes of PR and advertising, or the innovative routes of events and interactive solutions.
